Welcome back Scarlet Spider fans! Apologies for the lateness of this issue's release, but it'll be worth it (We hope)! When we left you the last time, Ben was at the mercy of the Vulture! How does that end, you might ask? Read on to find out!

        Flying Sidekick!

Connor Parker’s Bedroom, 5:43 PM

(Connor Parker walks into his bedroom and plops onto his bed. He pulls out a sheet of paper that says "Powers that Be" and checks off "Spider Sense" along with "Agility" and "Speed")
Connor: "Well, one more down, more to go..."
(He looks out his window and sees the Scarlet Spider fighting the Vulture several rooftops away)
Connor: "Holy crap!"

(Connor grabs an old Halloween mask, courtesy of last Halloween, throws it on and leaps out the window)

Connor: “I gotta help that guy!”

Random Rooftop, 5:44 PM

(Vulture activates an electricity generator and electrocutes Ben and throws him into an air conditioning unit on top of a building)

Ben: “ARGH”

(Vulture activates his electricity generator to energize his wings and dives towards Ben, who struggles to get out of the broken air conditioning unit)

Vulture: “Dodge this you scarlet speck!”

(Ben groans as he attempts to move out of the way of the Vulture’s attack…)

Connor: "Excuse me, but is this a "member's only" beat down?"
Vulture: "What?"
(As the Vulture turns to see who addressed him, he is kicked in the face by Connor's flying sidekick)
Vulture: "GAH!"

Connor: “BOO YEAH!”

Scarlet Spider: “What the hell?”

(Vulture attacks Connor, whose Spider Sense triggers, causing Ben pain)
Ben: "GAH!"
(Internal): "Just like earlier today... No freaking way it's him..."

(Vulture comes towards Connor and electrocutes the ground, hitting him and sending him into Ben)
Connor: “That all you got beak breath?”

Vulture: "Beak breath? You're almost as bad as the Scarlet Speck down there!"
Ben: "The "Scarlet Speck" takes offense to that!"
(Ben webs the Vulture and jumps him, sending him into the adjoining wall)
Vulture: "Damn it!"
(Vulture launches the sharpened 'feathers' at Connor, which his Spider Sense helps him dodge, and shoot pain through Ben's head)

Ben: “OOOOOOW! GODDAMMIT!”

(internal): "No doubt, it's that kid from earlier"

(Vulture throws Ben over the side of the building)

Ben: “OOOOOH CRAP!”

(Connor sprints and grabs Bens hand as he clears the edge)

(Ben see's the Vulture get away)

Separate Rooftop, 5:49 PM

Ben: "WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT!"
Connor: "Me SAVING YOUR LIFE!"
Ben: "You let the bird get away, and who the hell are you?"
Connor: "Uh... Spider-Man?"
Ben: "Nice try, I know you're that kid from Midtown"
Connor: "WAIT, THAT MEANS YOU'RE THAT JERK SENIOR!"
Ben: "So what if I am... I think you broke my Spider Sense..."
Connor: "What makes you think I did it?"
Ben: "Earlier in school, and when the bird attacked you, and I'm guessing you have a Spider Sense, because yours goes off and causes mine to flare and screw with me, and now it won't stop going off!"
Connor: "Maybe it's from the Spider Tracer I pinned on him before... I thought my Spider Sense would pick it up though..."
Ben: "Well, he's gone now, and you need to go home and leave this behind"
Connor: "I just saved your life and you’re telling me to leave it behind!?"
Ben: "I have a lot more experience than you do, and I can't have you get in the way and get me killed"

(Ben twists fast and collapses in pain)

Ben: “Mmmmm”

Connor: “Are you okay?”
Ben: “I’m fine! Now just get home and leave your Halloween costume in the basement!”

(Ben limps to the side of the building and lets himself slide off swinging away while holding his side)

Ben: "Damn kid's gonna get me killed some day"

New York Alleyway, 6: 27 AM

(The next day, Connor is walking to school, with Ben not far behind)
Ben (internal): “Great, now I’ve got to keep my eye on him, just in case he does anything stupid…”

(Suddenly Connor is whisked up by the Vulture)

Connor: “WHOA, WHOA, WHOA!”
Vulture: "This is for kicking me in the face last night!"

Ben: “DAMN IT!”

First Look at our Main Character!

Here is a very basic edit of the slash in  Ben Reilly Jr.'s hoodie. The image itself was actually chosen because of its slim design, and Ben is smaller than most Spider-Man characters, but isn't thin. He's supposed to be toned, but not exactly muscular, to give him that "deceiving" strength.
